Dr. Kevin Adair is a graduate of the University of California, at San Francisco dental school. Dr. Adair practiced general dentistry for 9 years. He sold his dental practice and proceeded on a 7 year journey that culminated in attaining a Masters and Certification in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Dr. Adair owns and operates 2 orthodontic offices in Northern California: Fairfield and Rocklin. He is an international speaker and educator. He co-founded a study club named Team Airway Study Club that includes a vast array of providers from ENT, Sleep Physician, Cardiologist, Myofunctional Therapist, Osteopaths, Dentists, Orthodontists, and more. Learning Outcomes:
Explain the concept of developmental reflexes as a journey
Name and summarize several reflexes that impact feeding and speech and language abilities.
Relate the information of reflexes to their personal practice with intake information and evaluation forms.
Speakers Bio:
A graduate of Northwestern Medical School, Elizabeth is a licensed Physical Therapist (MPT) working primarily with children. While initially practicing in the schools, she noticed a growing number of students with no diagnoses but challenged by the school setting. Physical therapy training programs offer explanations only as they relate to hard diagnoses. Without a diagnosis, a normally developing child should be able to throw a ball, skip or stay in their chair. Why was she seeing so many children with challenges that didn’t make sense? Teachers would probe for information that she couldn’t provide. Elizabeth wanted answers beyond what traditional PT could provide.
Determined to help these school children feel more successful and then having a child of her own with regulation challenges and underlying anxiety, Elizabeth dove deeper. While researching, she discovered the importance of primitive reflexes when dealing with the nervous systems’ development. This led to a concentrated study of reflex integration, nutrition and other strategies that has completely transformed her practice to help children and adults. She has developed a comprehensive movement-based program using various modalities to build stronger neural connections. She is passionate about the neuroplasticity of the brain and the opportunity for change.
Elizabeth is the owner of Thrive Therapy in Elmhurst, Illinois, where she serves individuals of all ages, birth – 80 and beyond. She also teaches classes about reflex integration at her office and through the United States to parents, teachers, caregivers and professionals of all backgrounds. Through her studies and experience, she has found that understanding and addressing developmental reflexes may be a missing piece across all developmental domains: feeding, sensory processing, regulation and bonding, social and emotional skills, speech and language abilities, fine and gross motor skills, memory and learning, and higher executive functioning . One of Elizabeth’s main missions is to help grow awareness and understanding of reflex integration so more people can benefit.

Speaker Bio:
Jesse graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. He began his career in Rapid City, SD at an outpatient orthopedic clinic where he worked for 8 years. As part of a team of 10 PT’s, Jess had become an active participant in continuing education. Jess’s focus on serving Western South Dakota with lifetime fitness, health and root positional cause versus peripheral symptom modification fit with PRI concepts seamlessly. He took his first course in PRI in 2006, which evolved into a now passionate interest in Postural Restoration®. When able, he took additional courses and coordinated PRI courses as a host clinic.
In 2012, Jess earned the designation of Postural Restoration Certified™(PRC) as a result of advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns, and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute®. At the start of 2013, he joined About You Physical Therapy with the goal of becoming a Postural Restoration Center in the near future. He thoroughly enjoys his time with patients and feels called to teach postural restoration, as it was and is central to him remaining in the profession of physical therapy. Jess is a husband and a daddy first and loves spending free time with his favorites—his wife Carrie, and his daughters Alexa, Jenna, Macie and Lillie.
