HONORARY LIFE MEMBER

The highest tribute of the IAOM is the granting of Honorary Life Membership. The recipient must be a member of the IAOM and must have had a profound influence in the specialty area of orofacial myology and the IAOM. This person shall have all membership privileges without payment of dues.

On June 26, 1987, the IAOM Board of Directors presented a special award to Mr. William E. Zickefoose in recognition and appreciation of his unique contributions toward the founding and advancement of the International Association of Orofacial Myology.

THE GOLDEN GAVEL AWARD

On June 29, 1987, the Golden Gavel Award was established to honor an IAOM President who, during his/her presidency, demonstrated extraordinary dedication, leadership and significant contributions while fulfilling the responsibilities of this presidency. The recipient of this award shall be selected by the IAOM Board of Directors only when special recognition is deemed appropriate.

LIFE MEMBERS

A Life Member shall be identified as a member who has held membership for at least ten consecutive years immediately prior to attaining age sixty-five. This category must be applied for by the member in writing to the Executive Coordinator of the IAOM. If this person fulfills the above requirements, the Executive Coordinator shall inform the IAOM President. Handbook Editor and the Corresponding Secretary. The member shall automatically receive LIFE MEMBERSHIP status with all privileges of a member without payment of dues thereafter.
